Our Society was formed in September 1967 and is the 8th oldest of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies, which became The Arts Society in May 2017.
We are an extremely friendly and enthusiastic society. We actively promote knowledge for the education, appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts through our regular monthly lectures, visits and tours.
We offer 9 lectures a year from September to June on a wide variety of topics associated with decorative and fine arts.
These lectures are presented by lecturers who are accredited by The Arts Society. Every year we also organise several one-day visits to exhibitions and places of historical, cultural and artistic interest in addition to a five-day residential tour alternating between the UK and Overseas.
